Re: I want to cry!!! :(
Do you have a Planned Parenthood in your area? Be firm, don't take no for an answer and they will remove it. Otherwise, the Emergency room is a more expensive option, but considering the pain and suffering this piece of plastic puts us through (not to mention the mountains of bills I accrued getting tested for every disease under the sun) totally worth it. And, barring these options, can you change doctors? For awhile I had a naturopath who was also an MD, gave me my yearly pap, etc., and would have most certainly removed the IUD had I not already had it removed. Not all doctors are b**eh**ded about Mirena, even though it may seem that way. And most doctors should remove your IUD if you ask, regardless of reason. Get out there and look around, 12+ months is unacceptable. Good luck!
(Sorry Red81! I am reediting my text because I read that you need surgical removal! I still think it would be a good option to seek help elsewhere. I don't know if Planned Parenthood has the resources to do this kind of surgery, and a Naturopath certainly does not -- but I am sure there have to be more enlightened practitioners out there who can get this removed sooner rather than later. My thoughts are with you!)
