Re: Candida and Low Testosterone / Hormonal Imbalance, anyone?
I started battling candida in 2007. In 2009 for some stupid reason, I thought I was over it, or at least my problems were not candida related. In spring 2010 I got bit bad with relapse, and that's when the test was ran showing low testosterone. I was not managing candida or gluten free diet at all well, during this period.
I would not expect that fighting candida would be a trade off like you describe, that would suck. I would expect as your body gets stronger, the situation should stabalize and improve. I'm no expert here. For me, I see the problem being caused more by lack of B vitamins, being almost vegan for about a year, proteins not being utilized right in the body ect..
Over time many things are stressed, liver, adrenals, thyroid. Possibly testosterone is just another hormone in the mix that gets thrown out of whack.
I haven't done any research on this issue yet.
