Good point. Clarification is needed. As far as I know...the tribal rituals done by such groups as the Native American Indians, Australian Aborigines, African people and others were coming of age rituals for those around twelve to eighteen years old. Only the Judaic ritual (based on the old-testament values) performed it on infants.

I suggest infant circumcision is worse because it would drive the pain deeper into the subconscious mind since a child is not fully aware during the procedure. Hence, it would be harder to figure out the reason for having aversion or self-hatred issues later in life when it comes to 'self-loving' moments.
