mixing my own IF #2 -- questions!!!! for Uny or anyone else who knows...
I am mixing up my own IF#2 with the following recipe:
2 pts flax seed
2 pts apple fruit pectin
2 pts
Bentonite clay
7 pts psyllium seed and husk
2 pts marshmallow root
1 pt fennel
1 pt activated charcoal
A few questions:
- Should I use equal parts psyllium seed and husk, so 3.5 pts seed, 3.5 parts husk?
- Should I measure the ingredients before or after grinding them? Flax seed seems to expand after it is ground, so should I measure 2 pts whole flax seeds, and then grind them, or grind them first and then measure out 2 pts? The marshmallow root becomes very fluffy when it is ground. Should I compress it to measure? I want to make sure I'm adding enough!
- Are there any things that shouldn't be ground (and should be left whole or chopped)? I'm using a coffee grinder, which doesn't really do much to the psyllium seeds but grinds everything else pretty well.
- Is there a preference of slippery elm inner bark vs marshmallow root? What effects do they have?
