My girlfriend told me later that the case was even discussed at Mass General in Boston. Noone ever thought to work with a plastic surgeon.
I know I am an "antique" on CZ but it shows again even that long ago I was questioning things, surgeons were not interested what you would look like after the surgery.
Surrgies have come a long way. It was not that long ago that they would pretty much rip you open to remove the gallbaldder. Now they can do it laproscopiclaly leaving three tiny scars.
Removal of breat ducts now also leave minimal scarring in most people. Some skin types though are more prone to scarring, especailly keloiding.
Regardless, surgery of any type really should be a last resort since all surgeries carry risks such as infection.
