Re: Am I confused on amount?

I don't know where the confusion started, but the recommendation is always for 1 cup (more or less) of Slippery Elm porridge/gruel 1-3x daily...and the basic recipe for making Slippery Elm porridge/gruel has always been the same:

http://healingtools.tripod.com/thns7a.html#slipelmgrl

SLIPPERY ELM GRUEL
Therapeutic Action: SLIPPERY ELM is a Demulcent and Nutritive, plus it promotes Tissue REGENERATION!

Formula: Slippery Elm Gruel is made by the following Method:
1. Put 1 tablespoon of Slippery Elm Powder in a small bowl.
2. Slowly stir in Three-Fourths of a Cup of Boiling Water.
3. ADD Honey, Maple Syrup for sweetening and/or Cinnamon for flavor, after the Gruel has become THICK, like Cream of Wheat!

1 Tablespoon of Sliperry Elm bark powder to approximately 1 cup of water = 1 cup of Slippery Elm porridge/gruel.  If you like it thicker, then you could add a wee-bit more powder, but we're making a porridge here (like Cream of Wheat or oatmeal), not a dense "play dough glue".

You can/should have 3 cups of porridge daily, so that's basically 3T of Slippery Elm Powder.

Blessings,

Unyquity
