Re: Conversion Help??

Ok. You've got 5% Lugol's. The good stuff. 24 drops 5% Lugol's = 150 mg.

To get the same concentration as you have now, get a container marked to 200 ml. Pour in the 30 g of dry Lugol's. Pour in enough water so you can stir to dissolve. Then finish adding water to the 200-ml mark. (You're making 200 ml of solution, and we don't know exactly how much water that will take, but it will be no more than 200 ml.)

In other words, their recipe makes 1% solution. You want 5% solution. 5 times as strong. So either you use 5 times the amount of dry Lugol's they use for a 1-liter mark, or you use the same amount of dry Lugol's they use but with a mark at 1/5 of a liter (200 ml).

Happy dissolving!
