The "gunk" that's coming out of your eyes is called "frass" and it's the eggs and excrement of the worms. From what I read, when they die, they split open and all the eggs come out. I get that when I use the coconut oil in my eyes.

Be careful how you handle it! Those eggs are still alive, so use a damp tissue to wipe it out of your eyes, then toss the tissue and wash your hands really well. You don't want to reinfect yourself.
