I also admire those that will protest injustice, even if it means that they may be arrested, beaten or even killed. As you said Cisco, this is the act of a desperate and oppressed people. The protests in Egypt have given others hope, that they may change the way their government is run, by protesting in the streets.

In Western countries, we seem to think that only our particular type of democracy is worthwhile, but this does not take into account the culture, religion, or desires of people in countries that may not want a western style democracy.

I think we need to watch very carefully for any outside interference, these are oil rich countries, and we all have seen what happens when political instability allows other countries to invade and take over control, with no interest in actually helping the people, (in fact making the lives of the people a great deal worse, and perpetrating many human rights abuses), but whose only interest is an economic and strategic one.
