ALL human protien comes from amino acids; all but about 8 we make in our bodies, those 8 are called "essential" amino acids, meaning they come from the foods we eat.
How hard is it to get those? 1 pound of greens, a few nuts and seeds, eating the rainbow in fruits and veggies.
Animal protein has to be broken down to get the essential amino acids out, and it's an energetically exhausting process. SAD eaters use appx 80% of their bodys' energy digesting each day.
Did you see Doug Graham's exercise video recently? The man has eaten vegan for 25+ yrs and is as fit as a person can be!

I live in a 4 generation household. They go to the dr, they take their meds, they eat over-processed JUNK and very little in that is in manner healthy. What do I do about it? I try to set a good example!! It's taken 5 1/2 yrs for my mama to start trying what I eat. Occassionly, recently, I've started hearing "why don't you fix us some of that so-and-so?" YAYAYAYA ***happy dance*** (... and I quietly wonder if she had said that 5 yrs ago if she'd have needed that lung biopsy 2 weeks ago ... better late than never!!)
