If you believe that protest, (and I don't mean just marching in the street, although that is one way), doesn't change anything, then don't do it.

A street protest by the Egyptian people, has worked very well, so it can be an effective form of making a political statement.

Perhaps you can think of other forms of protest, to make your views known.
