Re: who here is a vegetarian or vegan?

I am allergic to soy and gluten and have been off them for 6 months now and haven't seen a change in my thyroid. I think my problem is heavy metals. Fish would not be a good thing for you to eat right now because of all the mercury contamination in them. Meat is not a good thing either, the inhumane way that all of our animals are treated has a very negative effect on our cows and pigs and it affects their meat. I couldn't ever eat meat again after thinking about all those poor cows in line knowing their gonna die and watching all their friends die. Cows are very sensitive creatures and they know whats going on. Oh, it just makes me so sad! Sorry, I don't mean to be rude to people who eat meat nor do I want to start an argument. Anyways, in regards to people getting sicker on vegan diets it depends what your eating. Any diet can be unhealthy whether it's vegan or not. Infact, most vegans are unhealthy because of all the highly processed and prepared foods they eat including soy and bread. It's not that your not eating meat, it's that your eating too much unhealthy vegan foods when what you really need is lots of fresh fruits and veggies. A lot of vegans assume that anything with the word vegan on it or anything acceptable for a vegan is healthy but it's just not true. I think the standard vegan diet is actually less healthy than the standard meat diet because while your eating pretty much the same foods the meat is being substituted for soy which is even more toxic than meat. Our bodies have adjusted to meat for thousands of years but they are only just starting to be introduced to soy. So don't think that you need meat, because you don't. You just don't need soy either, or bread for that matter. All you need are fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds, preferably all raw. Right now that's all I'm eating and I'm also addressing heavy metal toxicity. I'm not on medication for my hypothyroid. It was diagnosed by a naturopath who gave me armour but I didn't take it because I didn't think it was the solution. For me I think the solution is getting out all the heavy metals. Good luck to you guys!
