20-day Water Fast Gave Me a Yeast Infection
So I've got a relatively serious (probably systemic) yeast infection, primarily in the mouth. The symptoms started on day 15, got worse steadily, and then intensified as I started eating again (watermelon & oranges -- lots of
Sugar feeding the yeast). I self-diagnosed today (link below) with a VERY convincing positive test -- my saliva had obvious, growing yeast in it, and lots of it. I had no idea what my symptoms were caused by until today.

(The same saliva test as above can be found all over the 'net).
I think by killing the good bacteria in my gut (by not eating), I allowed the yeast to grow, and it made it out of my intestines and into my body, and then I proceeded to eat all the wrong foods (high
Sugar fruits) for someone with Candida. I switched over to veggies and dip (raw vegetables in a sour cream dip) until I discovered that sour cream is horrible for causing Candida overgrowth -- so I'm on to chicken broth & chicken-noodle soup (with lots of veggies cooked in the broth).
I'm moving over to the
Candida Support Forum for obvious reasons, but I figured I'd offer this warning: If you start experiencing symptoms in-line with Candida, be very careful. There's nothing worse than causing a long-term serious problem with Candida from what should be a cleansing fast!
I'll answer any questions! (I plan on going to a doctor to confirm diagnosis, of course).
