Re: Treatment Discovered for Pancreatic Cancer

Isn't it quite the leap to say that pancreatic cancer is virally induced?

Not really.  The research has proven this unlike the real stretched comment made by you in this post:

http://curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1764381#i

where you claim that " most cancer is caused by poor cellular health plus toxins & radiation"

I don't find that opinion to be prevalent at all among cancer authorities

And I am sure the cancer authorities are just beating down the doors waning people that most cancers are caused by poor cellular heath, right?  I am sure they would have a problem with the claim of toxins as well since this is pretty vague and they believe that many cancers are caused by hormones as well as radiation and pathogens.

and the links you gave do not indicate that pancreatic cancer is a virally induced cancer, only that there may be some association between certain viruses and pancreatic cancer in some patients.

Actually there is a shown link between the hepatitis viruses and pancreatic cancer.  And as I have pointed out before there has never been any proof of hereditary cancers.  Every oncogene that has been found was found to be viral.  So it seems the cancer authorities know quite a bit more about cancer viruses than you.

The first link said the they found the co-existence of TTV and pancreatic cancer in TWO cases and that it bore further investigation.

That is why I said "possible link" with TTV.

The other two links merely addressed the issue of increased incidence of cancer for people who had Hep-B and Hep-C.  Since cancer is more apt to occur in diseased tissue,

Any proof that cancer is more apt to occur in diseased tissues?  I have never seen the cancer authorities make any such claim so apparently you must have read some studies I didn't.

As far as there only being an increase this is true, but a very significant increase.

that would stand to reason and does not in my opinion indicate in any way that pancreatic cancer is induced by viruses.

Of course you have argued that no cancers are viral in origin the past despite numerous studies over the last 100 years to the contrary.  instead you think that cancer is caused from poor cellular health, which is a vague and unproven claim.

But tell me then how the catechins are treating the pancreatic cancer when there only effects as far as cancer goes is as an antiviral?

As a matter of fact, when you do a Google search for "pancreatic cancer causes", here is what you get in the first page of results:

http://pathology.jhu.edu/pc/BasicCauses.php

http://www.emedicinehealth.com/pancreatic_cancer/page2_em.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancreatic_cancer

http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/p/pancreatic_cancer/causes.htm

http://www.medicinenet.com/pancreatic_cancer/page2.htm

http://www.webmd.com/cancer/pancreatic-cancer/causes-pancreatic-cancer

http://www3.mdanderson.org/DEPARTMENTS/pancreatic/qa/whatcauses.htm

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pancreatic-cancer/DS00357/DSECTION=causes

http://www.cancer.org/cancer/pancreaticcancer/detailedguide/pancreatic-cancer...

Not one of those lists viruses among the causes of pancreatic cancer.  John Hopkins, MD Anderson, Mayo - you'd think they would know enough to at least list viruses as one of the possible causes.

ROTFLMAO!!!!  You would also think that they would know that ozone cures cancer and it would be all over their journals.

What I find most interesting is how I found all sorts of medical and science journals reporting the links between the viruses and pancreatic cancer within minutes.  And you apparently did all sorts of research and found nothing.  Tell you what.  When I get done teaching you about cancer I will teach you how to do proper research if you want.

While catechins. especially those found in green tea, may have anti-viral properties they also have properties which inhibit the growth of cancer cells

Proof of this?  And exactly how does it do this?  By destroying cancer viruses?

as well as prevent the activity of free radicals which cause cellular damage that can lead to cancer.

Proof that free radicals cause cancer?  Why is it that EVERYONE is exposed to free radicals every day and yet not everyone has cancer.  You claimed that a double the increase in pancreatic cancer from hepatitis infections is a casual relationship, yet free radicals are present in 100% of the population and pancreatic cancer is still rare.  For that matter cancers in general can be considered somewhat rare considering the number of cases in relationship to the world's population.

By the way, apparently you are also unaware that we need free radicals to survive and that the body's primary defense against malignancies is a free radical generated by the body.  Know what this free radical is?
