I used to have the same reaction when I ate licorice, of course hypoglyceamia could be the problem but if you are eating regular licorice it is made from wheat glucose and you could be reacting to that. I drink at least one cup of licorice tea a day, but I drink it slowly and started off with it quite weak. When I have a severe adrenal attack I feel that this is one of the only things that gets me through. Saying this do not have licorice when you are already feeling stressed, or strung out, if you still feel like that most of the time you may not be able to take licorice just yet. It does raise the blood pressure which is why I drink it first thing to start my day, I have been doing so for 5months and my blood pressure is normal now! If you incorporate this into your restricted high protein, gluten, alcohol and Sugar free diet, and keep at the breathing exercises you may just reach the point of health you dream about.
