Re: Weight Regain After Fasting
just a couple quick(er) thoughts. I got very wordy above!
I think one of the main issues here, is that we are actually (or are we?)getting nutrition from the food we are eating. After a water fast, the body is more prepared to get its nutrition from whole foods. And would far prefer these to anything 'supplement'.

okay--I am assuming there is a level of good food choice here. If there is not, then all bets are off. :-)

If you look into the studies measuring brix and how that reflects the total profile of a plant-based food, not just the "sugar content" (as some might think) but the whole synergistic 'whole food' mineral picture, then you will find that much of the food we are consuming is minerally-deficient. It's a big shock! I've tested produce, and it's almost uniformly low-brix, according to the charts that call a food "good", let alone "excellent".
so, while a good diet might include all the right things, these items may be crrating mineral imbalances, and so forth, which explains why many people crave, and then return to just the old ways of filling up on empty foods.
This is a big subject in Natural Hygiene, and is somewhat outside the scope of this forum)
One of the signs of this mineral dificiency/imbalance is a tendancy to keep looking for something more to eat--it is a form of seeking for the missing nutrients.
Very important then, to use a few "superfoods", probably. Much as I dislike that kind of thing--since it's not available to most people. So, I consider good kelp powder and nettles to be in that realm, and affordable in bulk.
If you look into nettles, you will be amazed at their countless benefits. It's my experience that the more I do these few things, the less I need/want to eat, on the whole, and the better my health and weight.
