Re: The Candida Diet
I aim for approximately 100-125g of carbs a day. My body doesn't do well on anything less. I tried going down to 0-10g carbs a day for 4-5 months in 2009, and it was a disaster for me. Fatigue, cramping, really bad insomnia, agitation, lightheadedness.. it was unbearable ... I've come to the conclusion that my body just doesnt function on less than 100g carbs/day.
I'm not trying to promote or sell any certain product, but the diet I follow is basically a modified form of the Body Ecology Diet. I cut most of the high carb foods out of the diet, but allow peas and lima beans since they give me no trouble. It works great for me, and I have none of the gas/bloating/itch/rash that I experienced on other candida diets. I take in about 125g of carbs a day, which makes my brain happy.
I guess each case is unique, and we each have to discover what works best for us.
Your proposed diet actually has alot of similarities to the way I eat. Only fresh/frozen foods (no canned or packaged). No
Sugar or rice, potatoes etc. So I think most of your points are good ones. The only thing you mention that I don't see as a problem is the rotating of your carbohydrate on a 4 day cycle. I've been eating essentially the same foods daily (for the past year) and it has worked well for me. I use the food combining rules and portion guide in the body ecology diet.
But you have to do what works for you.
