Re: Feeling like there is no future for me

Hi Clare,
So sorry to hear you're having such a rough time, particularly as a while ago you posted that your detox had been successful and you felt you were on the mend.
I think it's very hard for families to fully appreciate exactly what we're all going through. I've been with my partner since we were both 18 (I'm now 48)and he's my best friend. But he was severely tested when my Mirena symptoms were so bizarre and the doctors/neurologist/hospital so clueless. My violent mood swings meant I was vile to him and our teenage kids and I despite trying to be positive I felt really ill for almost three years. He's since told me that he seriously considered whether the relationship was worth all the aggro.
Strangely it was only when I started having seizures that it proved to everyone that my failing health wasn't in my imagination.
You say your mum has complete faith in the medical profession, but she must be aware of other instances (eg thalidomide or this weeks case where a contraceptive implant failed) where drug companies have made serious errors. Would she be willing to sit down and read sites like this so she can see that your symptoms tally with other Mirena victims?
Try and keep strong and positive- this is just a blip and you WILL get better.
Claire
