Son's allergies & adrenals
I had posted about my son's stomach issues (clear endoscopy, potential hiatal hernia, etc.). We've had some developments that are confusing/concerning.
First, his reflux seems to have strangely (but thankfully) faded away in the past month other than if there is some constipation (it was almost constant before). The only thing I can connect this to is the going off of his allergy desensitization drops. We did this to help get a clear picture of what is going on. Is it possible that exposure to his allergens via the drops could CAUSE more problems rather than help things (keeping in mind his biggest allergy symptom is stomach issues)?
I will say that his dust allergy reactions have gotten worse since he has been off the drops, so I am confused. I wonder if one symptom can get worse and one get better?
We have begun an
Elimination Diet and it seems he has Oral Allergy Syndrome (he has plenty of grass, tree, etc. allergies). What concerns me is that we have yet to find a fruit, vegetable, or herb he does not react to. He gets mouth, throat, and ear reactions to foods- his hands go numb if he touches the stuff, too- even stevia. He lives on chicken, millet, and butter currently.
Could the oral allergy syndrome have come up as a result of stopping the drops? I am just thinking if the dust allergy got worse, maybe the tree/greasses allergies also got worse and is manifested through the fruits and veggies.
I know we must strengthen his adrenals- but what could he possibly tolerate? We're trying to expand his diet enough to prevent constipation and are getting nowhere fast. Can you suggest how we get such an allergic kid ahead of this curve? Would homeopathy or accupuncture help in a case like this? I will certainly test the herbs you have suggested for adrenals before- I have them all in the house- but doubting he'll tolerate them, I wanted to ask about Plan B.
Thanks so much.
