Re: Worlds reaction (in a nut-shell) after 12 days of WikiLeaks cables...

There is a simple point here and no commenter has said in all that I have read.

The efforts by various powers to shut Wikileaks down is an act of corruption. A form of corruption more dangerous than the activities usually associated with that word. Access to information is a foundational to informed action.

With-holding information is a powerful means to corrupt society. We pay a big price for accepting that form of corruption. We will continue to pay that price if the attacks on Wikileaks are given public credence.

If equity is important for our society then the with-holding of information is equity denied. One form of societal corruption is denial of equity of access to information.

Talking whistle blower security is about as exciting to Governments and the powers that be as competition is to business. Inequity of access to market is another form of corruption. This behavior is crap.

If governments and business are serious about social outcomes then they should recognise that denial of equity of access to information amounts to corruption.
