Coconut oil makes my face break out terribly!

I may have just used too much, but I got horrible sores and now horrible scabs on my face. Plus, it seems to be drying out rather than moisturizing my nose, where I'm trying to use it for eczema. I've been reading, and some reading suggests that coconut oil draws impurities out of your skin, and maybe that is why I'm having the breakouts. That doesn't explain the dryness, though, and I can't find anything on that. I had to use a vaseline based skin softener yesterday, because after I washed and dried my face, it was almost scaly.

Just wondering if anyone has had this reaction to the coconut oil, and if they know why it would do this. It doesn't seem to bother me when taken internally. Tweet
