Re: Wilkie scathing of PM's response to WikiLeaks.
Thanks Spuds for posting these interesting twists to this tragic tale.
Looks as tho Ms Gillard will once again need to clarify her statement ......"But as the days passed, Ms Gillard clarified her language, saying it was the theft of the US cables that was the illegal act, while Mr Assange's role was "grossly irresponsible".
This is the first time I´ve read about a "theft" and this word does´nt seem appropriate either. The Wiki site has said that they were allowed access to this info and all they did was make it public because this type of information is more than imp. to make the public aware of exactly what´s going on behind the smoke screen. It should make politicians, being paid by the public realise there are no two set of rules as far as Freedom of Speech and other democratic rules are concerned. In other words, if politicians behaved in a responsible way (no wheeling and dealing) sites like Wikileaks would not be getting all this attention.
Politicians in many countries are being caught with their "pants down" and this is getting better by the day!
