Can't get it removed!

Long story short after speaking with several women who have had these same symptoms as I have they all said they had a dramatic improvement after removing the IUD. I've tried several times to make an appointment with the OB who inserted it to have it removed, but due to an insurance issue I cannot get one! Basically, my insurance still has my primary physician as being my former OB and he will only see patients for pregnancy. I cannot get a referral to another doc without first being seen as a patient, which I can't do since I'm not pregnant. It's frustrating.
I've tried my local Planned Parenthood but they told me they could not remove the IUD. I could pay out of pocket for the entire procedure but we simply cannot afford it right now (literally, my husband was laid off for six months and just now went back to work. It will be a couple months before we have the full amount in hand).

Basically, I'm just needing to know this will get better, right? If this is the cause of these problems I NEED it out. I'm hoping that when our insurance fixes this mistake I can get it removed right away, but it is going to take anywhere from two weeks to a month to have this issue resolved.
