Regardless of the political leaning of the snopes guy, the article that you posted is nothing more than a bunch of lies. The headline - Is gardening now a crime? - is a blantant attempt to distribute lies. The bill was in response to the recent illness and deaths caused by food in our system. It will set up an agency to monitor food safety at COMMERCIAL FOOD PRODUCTION PLANTS -
Saying that this will apply to your local farm stand or home garden is just not true.
There may be things in the bill that you disagree with, but try and talk about those things in particular. It will go a long way towards fruitful discussion.
