Re: You people and your scare tactics are the ones "Out of reality"

Absolutely. Jboy, this person is speaking some sense. And this message goes to every newbie here: Avoid fads, miracle cure snake oil and overly extreme diets and cleanses like the plague. There is no one single cure, and one man's medicine might be another's poison. But if you have candida and other digestion/absorption difficulties, the last thing you should be doing is starving yourself of additional calories.

Anyone with severe intestinal yeast overgrowth is ALREADY suffering from a lack of nutrients, so that even if you ate a steak and salad every night you would still have vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Don't torture yourself by just drinking wheatgrass juice for thirty days or something nutty like that, it's unhealthy and not going to help anyway. There's very little evidence that fasting does any good anyway, although animals are known to cease eating for a few days when  very sick.

Not to say that these things don't have their place, but don't be fooled by the fake stories floating around here. Everyone here has seen this a million times, where we'll be having a serious, fascinating discussion backed up by real evidence, and somebody will come in and go "God, you guys are still searching for the cure? Just do what I did, every morning stand on your head while drinking freshly squeezed breast milk from a thousand year old unicorn. After doing that I was cured in TWO WEEKS!"

I'm sorry to be the one to say this, but unless your worst symptom is an occasional burp or itch, it's not going to be cured in two weeks, or even two months, not by liver flushing or fasts or anything. But the good news is that if you know what you're up against, you follow a sound, balanced diet, replenish the good bacteria and take proven antifungals, you will get better over time.

You will sweat, be dizzy and confused, cry, be awake at nights staring at the wall and cursing God for taking away the good times, sometimes even feel that you are about to die, and sometimes you won't even care. And then you'll have a good day. Maybe not great, but a little better, maybe you'll get more reading done or feel a little stronger, notice your burning guts a little less. Then you'll feel worse again and think none of it's working. And then it will get just a little better again. Patience my friend.

Fighting candida is like casting out a demon. It takes time, it doesn't want to go, and as you cast  it out it hurts more than ever before. But that's how you know it's working.(Keeping in mind you can differentiate true die-off from the symptoms of another illness) And until Jesus comes back riding on that white unicorn and drinking his wheat grass juice, it's up to us to do the dirty work. And I think we're up to it. Who's with me!
