Re: You really are AH-Mazing
You're MORE than welcome - I'm just sorry it's taking so long (and I'm not finished with the last half yet like I thought/said I would be).
Regarding the catnip - with this, the flower and leaves both contain the "action chemicals", so I'd get the catnip from M/R.
Dried herbs are generally sold in two forms: powdered, and what is called 'cut & sifted' (abbreviated C&S or C/S). C/S is the whole herb/dried, cut into a specific size and then sifted through mesh to remove any pieces that are too large (or not desireable). C/S requires MUCH less processing and heat, so it's always preferable (grinding & powdering dried herbs always degrades them, many times substantially - large percentages of the essential oils can be lost, and the heat from many grinders can actually burn the herb, virtually ruining or changing it's natural chemical composition). Of course, powdered herbs are best for capsules.
Also, when we mix powdered herbs with fluids (think: mixing baby powder with water)...whether we cook them or not, we can easily end up with a "gooey mud mess" that clogs whatever we're straining the solution through (or substantially 'thickens' the original solution). ack.
As far as 'how much' (yes, CE's everyday is the plan), this is not one I have weight-information on 'at the ready'. Catnip is VERY "lightweight" (think: one pound of feathers vs one pound of lead weights)...there's a LOT more 'tablespoons' in a pound of feathers, than in a pound of lead weights. It's *possible* you might be able to 'get by' with a half a pound, but I don't know that for sure without getting out ours and scooping-measuring-weighing (and I just don't have time to do that tonight - I'm working on a very important post that's long overdue! :::grin:::).
I got your 'shorter list' and have pasted it to the end of the original (thank you!). When I've finished the original, I'll just eliminate any on the new list that I've already answered.
Healthiest of blessings,
Uny
