Re: Help please - Hypothyroid + nodules
If your doc was concerned about this nodule a needle biopsy could be taken to rule out cancer. I have had a needle biopsy and it is painless... although I have read in some studes needle biopsies should be avoided unless you really want to know for sure as some say needle biopsies can seed cancer... but I am really not sure about this... just wanting to put forth both sides. I have decided not to have any further needle biopsies unless the doctor really pushes for one and gives me some very good reasons.
Re your cortisol, its fine for it to be high in the morning and mid morning, this is completely normal as long as within normal range. Its only when this is high in the evenings that something might be wrong in your adrenal department. Having said that though, many many adults are walking around with some level of adrenal fatigue.
Re my personal situation, I started using
Iodine about 4 years ago with alot of success in that my nodules have not grown any further. This is very good for me given that prior to
Iodine supplementation one sphere of my thyroid became so enlarged and nodules so prolific and so quickly, doctors pushed me to have half my thyroid removed which I did.
I turned to
Iodine and have been able to "save" my other hemisphere and I attribute this to iodine.
While some say that iodine can shrink nodules, I cannot say this for sure, but I can say for sure that my overall goitre has diminished in size and the nodules have definitely not grown any further.
