Why are Doctors so Darn discouraging?
I had my follow-up today with my doc. Discussed my blood work, and vision improvements, and this guy really irritated me and bummed me out. He is so corporate it makes me ill. I was so disheartened after talking to him. Even with my cholesterol numbers in front of him, a drop in LDL's from 103 to 74, and a drop in total chol. from 175 to 141, and he still tried to dismiss natural healing. Not to mention my vision improvements from 20/100 to 20/40. He just insisted that I need to be sure to make an appointment with my eye doctor to get my vision corrected as close to 20/20 as possible, and I quote...'there's no such thing as overcorrection!' Ewwwww!
When I mentioned liver flushing, he just mumbled something about so many 'crazy' things out there, there is no way to keep up with them, and the lack of regulation of supplements. Oh, and let's not forget the person he knew who died from taking ephedra as it stated on the bottle, and that they don't pull supplements off the shelf until they kill someone...HA!
Obviously, there is no point in even mentioning the track record of so-called 'regulated' drugs...
Oh, I am sooo irritated, and disgusted with his closed little mind, I want to scream! Improvements in lipids like mine is near the numbers touted by most presctiptions, and he didn't even ask me what I had done to improve my vision.
I guess the only positive of the whole incident was that he wrapped up the 10 minute chat with 'Well, whatever you are doing, keep it up!'
And they call themselves men-of-science! Humphhhh!!
