shingles question

James, my husband developed shingles about 10 years ago (he's 40 now) during a time of intense stress. Is that a normal for a reaction to stress? He was in a job he hated, having nightmares, the whole deal. The Dr. wants him to get the shingles vaccine to help prevent a recurrence. I'm not so keen on vaccines anymore. Is he prone to having it again? If he did, I'm sure there are herbs to help that. But we don't want to go there again. It wasn't fun for him.
