Re: Has Your Doc Tested Your Stomach Acid?
Acid reflux was a pretty big problem for me. While I still suffer from something a little different, what gave me some relief and might give you, is seeing if you have a
food allergy .
For example - I use to eat a lot of sandwiches. I had reflux all the time. Turns out I am wheat/gluten sensitive. I stopped eating those things and the reflux went down significantly.
Maybe try avoiding wheat and gluten for a week and see what happens.
There is a lot of talk about low stomach acid and while I agree it is a problem, I don't think it is always the case. I've followed the bitters, zinc, tmg, etc...and nothing has changed for me. It may however work great for you and is certainly worth trying.
I have some sort of "silent reflux". It does not burn like normal acid reflux. It get's up into my nasal passages. Causes a slimy throat feeling, my voice get's weak. It's really quite frustrating.
So you can see our problems are a little different. Give more thought on what you might be eating that you may have become sensitive to.
That's just my 2 cents.
