In Adrenal Fatigue, I am not in a position to endorse any blanket protocol as being superior because I have seen too many exceptions to any rule. Each person is very different, don't forget when they are in Adrenal Fatigue. some people do good on fat short term, especially if they are low in hormones as cholesterol is a precursor to many hormones. However, I also have some people who do terrible on fat but great on carbohydrate, as that is a better source of energy. So you see that each person's needs are very different. What helps you may be very toxic to another person.

For general good health and those who are healthy, its a different story. For anti-aging, I have always advocated good cholesterol and good protein such as that in raw egg for years as part of a balanced diet. I have written a paper on this called : Eggs- good for your body? and the reasons are eluded in detail.

As far as Adrenal Fatigue is concern, the body's unique nutritional needs at any specific point in time changes. Sometimes, fat can be a trigger for significant improvement because your body may be deficient in that to start as mentioned above, but over time, it may backfire, especially with obesity issues and if hormones imbalances are involved. A short honeymoon does not guarantee long term success. Most people do not like to have more energy and higher risk of heart disease at the same time or have worse hormone imbalance as a consequence, generally speaking. The same goes for protein and carbohydrate. So it is a good balance that counts.

Let us remember that the body's needs also changes. Those who are in advance adrenal fatigue or have multiple axis imbalances and other sensitivities are particularly vulnerable. One diet will stop working and makes the fatigue worse. This is not unusual at all. There are thus many factors to consider when allocating percentage of protein, carb, and fat ( and the kind of each) in the diet in Adrenal Fatigue situation, and that is well beyond what this response can entail.

Your question is a good one. I wish I can give simple straight forward answer but I cannot because that is the reality based on my experience. What we can say is that a normal body is designed to have a balance portion of carb, protein, and fat. A body with Adrenal Fatigue is not normal. It is damaged. The damage for each person is different. Some require more carb, others more fat or protein to start. As the body gets better, a more balance strategy is more desirable long term.

In Adrenal Fatigue, the danger is to assume what works for one person will work for another, and that what works at this time will work on an ongoing basis. A heavily damaged body generally does not make it easy.
