Re: Liver detox profile question/glucorinidation question?

Hi Hv. I just got back some results fro a liver detox profile i did and it showed some issues with glycination/glucorinidation. So ive been taking glycine but just wondering how to improve glucorinidation (do any foods or supplements help it?)

Kombucha tea is a source of glucuronic acid, so that is a good start.

Vitamin C and methyl donors, such as trimethylglycine (TMG) also increase glucuronidation.  Other things that increase glucuronidation include sulfur rich foods (garlic, onions, watercress, broccoli, hot peppers, egg yolks, etc.), limonene sources (orange oil, dill, caraway), D-glucarate supplements or foods (apples, broccoli, etc.), turmeric, etc.

Does glucosamine help it or am i way off?

Yes.  Although best known for cartilage formation, glucosamine has been shown to promote glucuronidation as well.
