Recycling and Reusable Ideas

As I am becoming more aware of what I can do around my home to save on energy, water, as well as what I can do in terms of recycling, I started thinking about buildings that have been vacated due to wear and tear. I found an interesting article discussing recycling and reusing the materials for further new structures.

What came to mind as well was, salvaging materials from the local dump. The second link talks about dumps that have a particular area that is there specifically for items that are in good enough condition and that is available for the public.
