This post may be way to late for this thread but I wanted it posted anyway.

47 years ago I gave birth to my first son. I was sent home from the hospital with chronic bladder and kidney infection. when I returned for help they gave me some big red pills and sent me home. My next visit they wanted to admit me to hospital due to severity of these infections that were not improving. I refused and they gave me more medication (sorry, I don't recall what they were). There was small improvement but the infection continued for a long time.

My grandmother came for a visit and she said to my mother, why didn't you tell her about lemon and water. She said to drink 1/2 a lemon in 8 oz of water twice a day until I was better and then drink 1/2 a lemon at least once a day until I was sure the infection was gone. I could not believe how well this worked.

I continued to get infections occasionally for about 5 years.
Each time I would do my 1/2 lemon treatment and they would go away and then after approximately 5 years I stopped getting them altogether. I haven't had one since.

I would guess I continued to get them periodically for those 5 years because I probably did not follow the 1/2 lemon once a day long enough. I don't think this remedy would hurt anyone, however it is sour and she warned me NOT to add anything else to the mixture including any sweetener

Over the years I have recommended this treatment to a number of people and when they would try it they also had rave reviews.
