Re: Opening up this book again, White Coated Tongue IS NOT ALWAYS CANDIDA!! Read my story!
Let me add to the confusion on this topic. I would describe what I have as a white film on my tongue. An md tested me for candida antibodies and found that I have elevated antibodies. He says I have candida overgrowth. Went on diflucan, saw improvement in many symptoms, but not the white tongue.
Saw an infectious disease md, he did a saliva test and it came back negative. This really puzzled me, but after reading some of this thread and thinking about my last dr appointment, I'm starting to think the white tongue may not be candida infection on the tongue, still could be connected to candida overgrowth, but possibly something else.
I'm starting to think this could be related to a deficiency or other bacteria. Recently went to a gastroenterologist. And she is thinking along the lines of pathogenic bacteria in the small intestine and vitamin/mineral malabsorption.
She wants to do an endoscopy w/ biopsy and possibly some kind of breathe test to check for bacteria.
So on the white tongue problem, no response to diflucan and negative saliva test. Even after all the frustration with these stupid mds telling me that I should not be concerned from being on 7 years of
Antibiotics , just maybe they might have a point on this particular problem.
