Re: In other words
Reading all of Colossians 2 makes it clear for me exactly what he is talking about. People were judging about that stuff then, and they are judging about it now.
And all this stuff they are judging about are just shadows now. Paul said don't fall for that, we have the reality, which is Christ.
In Christ we worship in spirit and truth, it's not about a physical place or day.
John 4:21
Jesus declared, “Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Although we are told not to neglect assembling ourselves together, whatever that day may be, because we need christian fellowship to stay strong in our walk with Christ.
There is evidence in the scriptures that after Jesus died, the believers gathered together on Sunday.
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
What does that scripture mean to you?
