Herpes simplex virus and other herpes viruses

Could you tell the difference between them?

I have herpes simplex virus although it has been a long time in inactivity. Can it affect my hep C negatively? Did it contribute for my having contracted the hep c virus? What more can you say about it? Is there a way to get rid of it?
