the *bacteria* take a form and express themselves as their terrain dictates...
there are plenty of factors that determine microbial form and function including, but not limited to, the terrain's mineral composition, toxic load, environment, including temperature, humidity, etc.
The bacteria found are a result of the environment\terrain provided for them - so to put it simply... bacteria (microorganism) form and function are a result of the environment\terrain, and not a root cause.
