How I broke my 25 day water fast EDIT
AUG 12 BROKE FAST around 5pm. Had greek yogurt. 1 hour later, carrot juice mixed with water. 1 hour later,
organic
Watermelon pieces. 1 hour half later, carrot juice mixed with green apple. Had BM after all that, which what I was trying to go for by eating the watermelon.
Aug 13 breakfast had tomato and apple juice. Few hours later, cucumber tomato, and apple juice. Evening, had non-dairy coconut milk yogurt.
Aug 14 cucumber, tomato, celery, apple juice for breakfast. Coconut milk yogurt for lunch. Few hours later, tomato, grapes, apple juice. EDIT: Later on, I had about 10 strawberries and 2 plums. Not all at one time, just spaced out.
And of course, I'm drinking water throughout the day. I feel very weak when I wake up, takes me a long time to get dressed and ready for my day. I still feel nausea and that extra saliva in my mouth. I hope it goes away soon after a few days. I can't wait to start working out. Btw, I used to carry around my inhaler for my asthma. I haven't had to use it. I feel over-joyed because I've had it since a little girl. It got better as I grew up but this year, I had my bad days. At the beginning of the fast, it hit me HARD. I had to do some breathing exercises to help me because I didn't want to reach for my inhaler. Thank God, I haven't needed it. I hope it stays that way because that used to always get in my way whenever I wanted to exercise. My asthma would act up and then I would have to stop. I'll be praying that that doesn't happen again. I will keep posting on my progress post-fast.
EDIT:
Update for my food journal -
Aug 15 - blueberry, tomato, and apple juice. Lunch, half of greek yogurt. About 8 strawberries and 1 plum.
Dinner - tomato, cucumber, carrot, celery, plum, blueberry, few strawberries juice. Snack at night, 1 plum, 1 cucumber, 1 small carrot.
Aug 16 - beet, carrot, celery, apple juice in the AM snack - 1 large cucumber, green apple
Dinner I made a big batch of very healthy vegetarian lentil soup. This is what I added:
Yellow lentils (1 pound bag)
1 large Purple onion
about 5 cloves of garlic
4 carrots
3
Celery stalks
1 orange sweet pepper
Half a bunch of parsley
Cumin
Curry powder
Mrs. Dash tomato basil seasoning
2 tbs olive oil
1 tsp Sea-Salt
I sauteéd the garlic and onion in the olive oil while the rest of the vegetables were cooking in about a gallon of spring water. I then combined everything together and let it cook on low heat until everything was very tender and cooked. I added the parsley at the end so it doesn't really wilt throughout the entire cooking process. I saved the soup in a huge container and then I took about a cup of the soup and puréed it in the blender. I had that and it was...SO GOOD. I actually couldn't finish my cup of soup because my stomach felt really full after a few spoonfuls. Later that night, I had another bowl of that soup. I also ate a few forkfuls of tuna/pasta salad NO GOOD! At night, had 2 plums and 1 apple. (The fruits were eaten half an hour apart)
I'll be having some of that soup throughout the week. I need it because I'm anemic and lentils are one of the best sources for iron. After I ate it, I felt really bloated. This is my first real hot 'meal' and maybe that's why? Do you guys think what I ate so far is good? Bad? Please, I would appreciate ANY input from you :)
