the knob doesn't matter, does it?

I thought if we're using the F165 on number 1 (the first from the left) connection, then we don't have to use the knob at all

can someone confirm this please? because that's what I'm doing, I don't worry about the knob at all, because I'm running on connector # 1 (from the left)

The output closest to the knob is the variable output. The other stays at around 5 volts or something.

If you're using the F165 as a pad device (like the GB-4000 is normally used) you should use the variable output. Eventually turning it all the way up. It's something like 13 volts or something. Much more power.
