Re: iodine and kidney pressure follow up

My ferritin was 3 ng/ml. I just can't believe that I am so low compared to the normal limits of 10-232.

I think that I am going to need a book or website that goes into this in detail.

All of my blood work was normal except:

Total iron 33 mcg/dl
% saturation 8 %(calc)
hemoglobin 10.1 g/dl
hematocrit 30.6 %
MCV 77.9 fl
MCH 25.6 pg

I started the Iodine because of my 3.5 cm uterine fibroid and heavy bleeding associated with it. I did not do well with the potassium iodide, and because I am prone to kidney stones I don't know about salt therapy to deal with detox. I did start taking molasses after reading of some success with that therapy.

I need to address the fibroid because it, most likely, is the cause of the low iron, but the ferritin should be first and I hope that the therapy for one will help the other.

Oh and just as an extra bit of info I put 5 drops of Lugols on my arm that I got in the mail today and within 6 hours I can't even find a trace of it on my skin.

My doctor is recommending IV iron and say's I'll probably need a hysterectomy, both of which I have objections to, but this is my second set of lab work in 5 months and she says my values are virtually unchanged.

Any advice to get my ferritin levels up and start addressing this fibroid would be very appreciated from you or anyone reading this.

Thanks Criss
