For anyone looking to get labs done for thyroid, Janie's "Stop The Thyroid Madness" website has a link for recommended labwork. Do not over look ferritin -- it is different than the cbc iron. If ferritin is low (below 50), then it's quite possible that Iodine supplementation may cause hyper feelings because the Iodine won't get to thyroid where a lot of it needs to go. You will certainly get that feeling if you've started on desiccated thyroid meds (ie: armour, naturethroid, or Canadian's Erfa Thyroid) and notice hyper feelings and heart palps before you even get up to 2-3 grain range and your ferritin is not optimal (70-90 range, higher for guys).
