Hi noquiter

no problems. some peoples words speak to us and others don't. mine usually don't, but i'll have a go.

basically using the mind is like riding a bike and the first thing you learn when youre fasting is how to use the brakes cos youre gonna apply them A LOT :-) it takes practice (or shock) to ignore millions of years of habitual survival triggers. just remember youre not alone, NO ONE finds it easy in the early stages and if you quit, putting the brakes on overeating will be just as hard so you may as well continue. fasting reconfigures everything, even emotions and thoughts. its a great boost to your confidence and you learn you are much stronger than you think (or feel :-)

picket inside your brain with a giant placard reminding yourself (in black and white only ;-) why your doing this. occasionally i've had to threaten and cajole myself when the going gets tough but all the while the intentions are PURE, its for the health of the body and will benefit not only you and this keeps you on track Oh and remember how fast july got here? well so will xmas so you may as well give yourself a healthy present now.
