I would like to tell you what I learned today in my hometown. I live in a small town and we do not have much organically grown produce. I went to farmer's market this afternoon and after buying several vegetables, I asked if he has anything organic at all. He answers that he doesn't see how anyone can even do that and also mentions that you have to be certified. Then he told me that he had to sign a paper when he bought the seed from Monsanto saying that he wouldn't save the seed for replanting. Then I asked why he bought the seed from Monsanto. He said he reckoned that was the only ones that the co-op sold. He knew about GMOs and thought they should have to tell us when they sell them, but didn't realize that he should make sure he buys heirloom seeds. I knew that you're likely to get GMOs at the grocery but FARMER'S MARKET produce grown in my hometown---that's a shocker.
Recently I was around some people that I don't know that well and one of the young ones was talking about working for Monsanto. Nobody seems to know what they are. Have they had their heads in the sand?
