So I contacted the Dutch distributor and although he wasn't entirely sure, he said that it probably only counts for this form/this product.

The silcium in this product is a double stabilized, cholinestabilized, bio-active silicium. He didn't explain it further and unfortunately I'm not a chemist but according to him it basically means is that it is very bio-active. I asked him if it's because maybe the silica in their product is already in orthosilicic acid form. He couldn't tell.

He said silica always binds to polymeres and this kind doesn't.

I asked him if a natural form of silica in the form of nettles tea would react with glass and/or metal and he said probably not. But he said the amount of silica in nettles tea is negligible which I doubt. Nettles tea doesn't contain the vitamin c anymore but it does have all the other activators (magnesium, vitamin k etc) for optimal absorption.But he is just doing his job ^^.

He is going to send me a leaflet.

I don't know what to think of all this. I'm not a chemist. And English chemistry terms aren't really my thing either. Neither are the Dutch ones for that matter lol. Is there a chemist on this board? :)

Because of my lack of knowledge of chemistry I can't decide if it does have some truth to it or that it's just sales talk.

I could however give him some information about the importance of stomach acid in absorbing silica :).
