Kombucha tea expiration

Hey everyone - I'm new to kombucha brewing, but I think that it's super-cool. I made a big batch and poured it into glass jars with metal lids. This led to some black gunk around the edge of the jars where the metal is, which I think was some kind of reaction. I haven't drank any, and I'm looking some answers/advice:

1. Is this still safe to drink?
2. How long is kombucha good for once the mother has been removed and the finished tea is put into glass jars and stored in the refrigerator?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!
