Re: All seb derm face sufferers...

Hi all

I'm 44, have had SD on my scalp, face (over all seb gland areas), and groin for 20 some years. Since I itch as well, I probably also have yeast issues.

I also have steroid induced Rosacea and am a red head and have sensitive skin to boot, so I have to be very careful.

Shampoo and Face Cleanser: Wallgreen salicylic 3% shampoo, fragrance free. Dilute with distilled water, very gently massage cleanse.

Supplements Morning: 1 herpanacine caps, 1 Vitamin E, 2 Collagen C, 1 Flax seed, 2 yeast cleanse capsules. Midday: 2 Collagen C, 2 yeast cleanse. Evening: 1 B5 (500 mg), 1 herpanacine cap, 2 Collagen C, 2 yeast cleanse.

I get the greasy scales that build up. My skin cells reproduce at an alarming rate, so the salicylic cleanser helps. I have to be very gentle, cannot rub hard and by no means can I use anything abrasive.

Day: I am just starting to use the Baking soda heavily diluted with distilled water on my scalp and sides of my face by my ears/side burn area (where it is less noticeable for work) during the day.
Night: Baking soda heavily diluted with distilled water on my scalp and all over my face at night and leave on until the next morning when I shower.

Exercise: About 5 days per week. Include dry sauna for about 5-10 min after to help sweat out the toxins and clean out the pores. I find this very important. I find it also loosens my dead skin so when I wash right after, it makes it easier to slough.

Regarding the baking soda therapy, I tried at first long ago to wash with it, but it is just too abrasive. I just now started with mixing with water and putting on like a light paste/film to make the host inhospitable for the yeast. I tried to use the coconut oil as well on top of the bs, but it's just too much for my skin to handle. I need to keep it aired out as much as possible, not clogged.

I'll try to update my progress with the BS therapy weekly. As for the supplements, the yeast cleans capsuls and collagen C I feel are probably the most beneficial. I just started to add Vit E and Flax, so time will tell.

Also I have just read an article about avoiding milk/dairy of any kind for acne. Since Acne and SD are linked so closely, you might want to consider that as well. I'm going to try.
