Re: Over-dependence on senna?
Thank you all for your replies. I think I was very tempted to carry on using senna because it gave me such spectacular results- and also because I have used it in the past, for up to a month on the Dr. Colonix about five years ago.
I realised, however, that psyllium alone, as I have been using it, has been pretty effective by itself- and so I have returned just to that. I still get white dots and threads coming out.
I have also read many posts about enemas, and while my first couple were very unsuccessful (far too little liquid- ended up being absorbed rather than expelled), I tried one with ACV and
Grapefruit-Seed-Extract that got out a lot of yeast and mucoid plaque- I was really surprised! I will stop taking senna entirely, as all of you have pointed out that it is a very short term solution that can, at worst, exacerbate one's condition. I will also consider rice bran instead of psyllium- what is your take on flax seed, Hveragerthi? I used to chew them every night before bed, but some how got out of the practice in recent years. I would like to be able to 'heal' my digestive system to the point where I don't have to rely on any kind of stool softener at all.
