Re: Another pov

Interesting POV infinitelove. This disaster certainly has made people more aware of what is happening on the planet, and what can happen when corporations are given a free ride by people and governments. "Its all good fun until someone loses an eye", or in this case, "its all good profit until something goes very wrong".

My hope is that people actually learn something from this, and look at how we all use fossil fuels, and our consumption of products that are manufactured using fossil fuels. Every person on this planet is responsible for this oil spill, and the destruction of the environment that it is causing, EVERYONE!

What I wouldn't like to see (but is what will probably happen), is that people will look to pass off the responsibility. I hope there will not be years of legal wrangling and years of "who is the biggest victim" games. That is human nature though. The track record for humans and the 'blame game' is not very good.

We could use this disaster to raise our collective consciouness instead, look to correcting past mistakes, putting people before profit, reining in the power of these corporations, and caring for our planet.
