Re: I thought one ounce of protein contained about 7 grams?

So, couldn't you eat about 12 ounces of protein a day to get the 90 gram requirement?

There are 28.349 grams to an ounce.

I use "roughly 30" to make it easier.

There is more to this though. We have to take in to consideration that most protein sources are not pure protein. Beef contains around 22% protein, fish 24% protein, pollen 30% protein, chlorella around 60% protein, spirulina, ants and bees around 85-95% protein.........  So a 16 ounce steak is not 16 ounces of protein.

Also keep in mind that essential amino acids are amino acids not produced by the body. So we must obtain them from diet or supplements.  The more varied our diets are the more likely we will supply the body with all the different amino acids it requires.
